Inter defender Stefan de Vrij could be ready to be called up to the bench for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Juventus, but not to start.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Dutchman is still not quite ready to start but that his condition has been improving.

De Vrij has not quite put the calf injury that he picked up against Liverpool behind him during the international break, and so the probable plan for tomorrow’s match is that Milan Skriniar will start in the centre of defense while Danilo D’Ambrosio will play on the right.

However, de Vrij is expected to be back in full training today after having only trained individually yesterday, and so there is a good chance that he’ll be able to at least make the bench against the Bianconeri.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also reports that the one major doubt in the lineup for coach Simone Inzaghi is whether to start Denzel Dumfries or Matteo Darmian on the right, with Dumfries still the favourite.
