Inter defender Stefan de Vrij will be called up to the squad for tomorrow evening’s Serie A clash with Juventus, though he is unlikely to start the match.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, via FCInterNews, who report that the Dutchman responded well as he put the finishing touches on the recovery process from his calf injury, whilst Marcelo Brozovic will also start.

De Vrij has spent the international break recovering from the calf injury which he picked up against Liverpool in the Champions League a few weeks ago and which caused him to miss the Nerazzurri’s last two matches before the break.

The 30-year-old has not yet made his return to full training, but signs are positive ahead of tomorrow and he will be included in the squad.

The Dutchman is highly unlikely to start the match, however, and Danilo D’Ambrosio is the favourite to start the match on the right of a back three, with Milan Skriniar shifting over into de Vrij’s customary central position.
