Former Inter, Fiorentina, and Parma goalkeeper Sebastien Frey feels that Inter’s top players must show themselves and make the decisive contributions against Juventus this evening.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Frey emphasized that the big names in the Nerazzurri’s squad must stand up to be counted in the big head-to-head clash.

Inter face one of their biggest and likely most difficult matches this evening, and the pressure will be on everyone from the players to the coach to deliver a result.

The squad have shown that they can get results on a consistent basis against the weaker teams in Serie A, but lately have struggled to show the same dominance when faced with teams in the top half of the table.

In the form of the Bianconeri they face an in-form opponent who are just a point behind them going in, and Frey believes that it is time for the top players to make an impact.

“There are many players who have to give more because Inter needs it from them,” he said. “Inter have top players and they have to make the difference.”

“We know that today anything can happen very quickly for a coach,” he said. “I think that last year [Inzaghi] gained confidence, today his future up for discussion because when things don’t go well the first culprits are the coaches.”

“I hope he can win and return to bring calmness back to the team as they fight for the Scudetto,” he went on.
