Former Inter midfielder Stephane Dalmat believes that the Nerazzurri face a critical juncture in their season when they travel to face Juventus in Serie A this evening.

Speaking to Italian news outlet L’Interista, Dalmat gave the view that the match will be the Nerazzurri’s last big chance to assert themselves as favourites for the Serie A title, but also expressed confidence that they can do it.

Inter do not absolutely have to win against the Bianconeri in order to have a chance of catching AC Milan and Napoli at the top of the Serie A table, certainly not mathematically speaking.

However, the gap would begin to widen if they are unable to, and it would become less and less likely that the Nerazzurri would be able to make up ground on their main rivals, while also potentially given Juventus a route back in.

Dalmat feels that the match will be absolutely decisive, though he also feels optimistic about the Nerazzurri’s chances.

“It’s a last resort tonight,” he said, “In terms of points, especially on a psychological level. But I’m confident, I think it’s possible to win tonight and push forward to put pressure on Milan.”
