Inter are more interested in Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout than they are in Lille’s Xeka as they look for players to reinforce in central areas.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediasrt, who report that while Xeka has been offered to the club, Veretout is a player who is a more serious target for them.

The Nerazzurri have had the lack of a direct backup to Marcelo Brozovic exposed in any matches where they’ve been forced to cope without the Croat, and this has led to a player with that profile becoming a major target.

Xeka could be a player with the characteristics needed to play the role, and the club are aware of his interest and availability on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.

However, it is Veretout who they are particularly eyeing up, as the Frenchman will likely leave Roma rather than renewing his contract which expires at the end of June 2023.
