Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is not likely to start in this evening’s Serie A clash with Juventus despite being fully fit.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that coach Simone Inzaghi will not want to risk including both him and Marcelo Brozovic right back in the starting eleven from injury.

De Vrij reportedly completed a full training session without any problems yesterday, and even with the club having taken great precautions and not rushed him he looks to have fully recovered from his calf injury.

However, Brozovic recovered from a similar injury as well, and with the Croat all but certain to start this evening’s match, Inzaghi will not be inclined to start de Vrij as well.

With two players returning from similar injuries, the coach feels that the balance of the team could be too delicate and he could also be forced to use two substitutions should either feel that they need to be taken off.
