Italian journalist Fabio Caressa feels that Inter defender Milan Skriniar has established himself as one of the top players in his position in all of world football.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as reported by FCInter1908, Caressa highlighted what he sees as the 27-year-old’s world-class qualities and also compared him to treble-winning former Inter defender Walter Samuel.

Skriniar has been a key figure in Inter’s backline virtually since he joined the club in the summer of 2017, and was a key player in their Scudetto win last season.

This time around, the Slovak’s importance to the team has if anything only grown, and he has put in a handful of performances where he absolutely has not put a foot wrong to ensure his team have looked defensively rock-solid.

Yesterday evening’s win over Juventus was another such performance from Skriniar, and Caressa feels that at this point he is simply one of the top players in the world in his position.

“Skriniar is very good , among the top three or four defenders in Europe today,” he said. “He’s improved in his decision-making, there are still some technical limitations but at man-marking he’s perfect, an old-fashioned defender who reminds me a little of Samuel, also at Inter.”

“He’s a wall and he played an excellent match,” he added.
