Former Juventus, Atalanta, and Italy defender Antonio Cabrini feels that now the only contenders for the Serie A title are Inter, AC Milan, and Napoli.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the 64-year-old gave the view that Juventus were decisively out of the race for the Scudetto after their loss to the Nerazzurri on Sunday evening.

The Bianconeri went into their clash with Inter feeling that there was still a hope that they could get themselves back into the title race, having made up significant ground on the three teams at the top over the weeks leading into the international break.

A win would have seen them overtake Inter in third, albeit with the Nerazzurri still having a game in hand, and would have put pressure on Milan and Napoli.

However, it was the Nerazzurri who prevailed 1-0 on the night, and now it would take a major collapse from all three teams at the top as well as a close to perfect end to the season by the Bianconeri for them to finish top of the pile.

“Now it looks like a three-horse race,” he said of the Scudetto race. “The possibility that Juve would be cut out of the title picture was always considerable given the bad start that they had to the season.”
