Inter and Juventus players had a verbal altercation in the aftermath of the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 win in Serie A on Sunday evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that tension was high between the locker rooms after the match.

Inter players were in positive spirits after taking their first win from the Allianz Stadium in almost a decade and getting their Scudetto chase back on track, while the Bianconeri were upset that they couldn’t turn a positive performance into a result.

Furthermore, the match had been an intense and physical one on the pitch as the fixture often is, and saw some refereeing controversies with the Bianconeri players particularly annoyed with two penalty incidents.

When the sets of player crossed paths in the dressing room area some heated words were exchange, though stewards separated them before the situation could get any more intense.

Today the sporting authority will issue a statement that will clarify whether there are to be any disciplinary consequences for the incident.
