Ivan Perisic’s intention is still to extent his contract with Inter past the end of June, though he will still have to meet with the club to get a deal worked out.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 33-year-old has not held any meetings regarding a potential extension since the beginning of February, but that he hopes to stay on.

Inter had held initial contract talks with Perisic early in February after the January transfer window had closed, and the aim was to have another round of talks a few weeks afterwards.

However, the unexpected dip in form during the period caused the club to decide to postpone all contract talks in order to fully focus on the pitch during the period.

Now, with the end of the season closer in sight the Nerazzurri are aiming to get back to the question of renewals of players whose deals expire at the end of June.

Perisic still wants to commit to a new deal, and a new two-year contract worth a net of €4 million per season plus add-ons looks possible.
