Inter wingback Robin Gosens is likely to start in the Serie A clash with Spezia, though less so in this weekend’s match against Hellas Verona.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that Ivan Perisic will likely be left out against Spezia because he is one booking away from suspension and should not be risked for the match against Roma.

Gosens has yet to make his first start for the Nerazzurri, but he is fully fit and coach Simone Inzaghi is prepared to turn to the German as an option.

Perisic is still the first-choice in the role, however, and with the Croat having picked up his fourth yellow card of the season against Juventus he is walking a disciplinary tightrope.

Roma looks to be Inter’s most difficult remaining league fixture on paper, with the Giallorossi in excellent form recently, and so Inzaghi will want Perisic available when facing them.

Accordingly, it could be Gosens who starts on the left against Spezia to make absolutely certain that Perisic does not pick up a suspension.
