Simone Inzaghi may give Joaquin Correa a start against Hellas Verona on Saturday as Lautaro Martinez is suspended, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Inter boss may be hoping to exercise some muscle memory within the Argentine as he scored twice against the same opponent at the beginning of the season.

That was one of two clear high points in Joaquin Correa’s first season at Inter, the other being the two goals he scored at San Siro against Udinese in October.

He has missed most of 2022 through injury but this game on Saturday could be a perfect opportunity to end the season in strong form and show that he can be an important player for Inter next season.

He would start the game alongside Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko, getting the lace instead of Alexis Sanchez who is also in the running.
