Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini has said that Inter are back in full swing for the Serie A title after the win against Juventus, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttosport, Andrea Mandorlini talked about Inter’s Scudetto hopes as well as their upcoming match against Hellas Verona on Saturday evening.

The former defender clearly has a lot of faith in Inter to defend the Serie A title that they won last season as he feels the win against Juventus was enough to get them right back on track.

“After the last round of the championship, the Nerazzurri are back in full swing for the title. Now every match will be very important. The calendar of the Italian champions looks good but the matches must be played.”

In terms of Saturday’s match against Igor Tudor’s Hellas Verona side, Andrea Mandorlini feels that it will be a tough game as the Gialloblu are both physical and skilful.

“On Saturday it will be difficult to beat Igor Tudor’s team. They have a great physical and psychological condition, you can see that they are well.

“The hosts’ motivations will be very high but the same goes for the guests, who will be able to face their rivals mentally free in a packed Meazza.”

When asked which of the current Inter players are the most similar to himself as a player, Andrea Mandorlini settled on Italian defender Danilo D’Ambrosio.

“I was a wild card, I held various roles. I really like Bastoni, but he’s better compared to me. D’Ambrosio, he played on the wing and who has now come to the centre.”
