Former Inter midfielder Nicola Berti has said that Napoli and Inter will battle until the end in the Serie A title fight but the Azzurri will win it, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via FCInternews, Nicola Berti said that Luciano Spalletti’s team will be the Serie A champions this season but Inter will fight right until the end.
“I believe that Napoli are the favourites, even if the Azzurri and Nerazzurri will fight until the end.”
He then explained that AC Milan will not be able to keep up with the other two teams despite being top of the table right now. He also said Bologna will not cause Inter problems but Hellas Verona might.
“I don’t think Milan can keep up with the other two. Just as I don’t think Bologna can worry Inter Milan, Verona will be tough. Against Tudor’s team it will really be a great game, because they play great football. And then now they are all finals until the end, the league has not been so balanced for years.”
Despite this clear confidence in both Napoli and Inter going forward in the Serie A title race, Nicola Berti did also add that both Simone Inzaghi and Luciano Spalletti often suffer a decline in form towards the end of a season.
“It is nice for our football to be able to enjoy this show. But watch out because both Spalletti and Simone Inzaghi at the end of the season always have a decline, so they will have to do better.”
