Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has said that his team will have to perform like ‘the real Inter’ when the Nerazzurri face Hellas Verona on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.

Speaking during his press conference on Inter TV, via FCInternews, Simone Inzaghi explained that the intensity that Hellas Verona play at will mean Inter must perform at their best like they did earlier in the season.

“It will be a very important match for us and difficult because we are against a team that has great intensity, quality players, so we will have to have a great match, like the real Inter.”

This game will be Inter’s first at San Siro with a 100% capacity crowd since the Covid-19 pandemic began. Simone Inzaghi says that he will never stop thanking the fans for their support.

“I will never stop thanking them because they have been fundamental throughout the year and I am sure they will always be by our side to help us at all times.”

Inter come into the game off the back of a vitally important 1-0 win against Juventus which has kept the Nerazzurri in the title race.

“Clearly it was a very important victory from all points of view because we got it against a very strong team in a direct match. It is a success that allows us to remain close to the leaders and to play this season finale in the best shape.”

It was put to the coach that the Juventus game showed Inter can win tough games even when they are not playing very well.

“I think this team has the means to win any kind of match. We did well in Turin, when we had to suffer we did it all together and this gave us the opportunity to win a fundamental match for the rest of the season.”

Inter are without Lautaro Martinez through suspension for Saturday’s game but Simone Inzaghi has faith in the players he can call upon.

“Tomorrow Lautaro will be missing, but I am lucky to have Dzeko, Correa, Caicedo and Sanchez who are well and are available, they are training in the best way.”
