Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has said that Inter have shown interest in Gianluca Scamacca but there is also interest from foreign clubs, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Sassuolo CEO talked about a number of players at his club that have been linked with moves away in the summer.

One of those players is Inter target Gianluca Scamacca. It is no secret that Inter are very serious about signing him but Giovanni Carnevali says there is a chance he will sign for a foreign team instead of remaining in Italy.

Inter have shown interest in Scamacca but keep an eye on foreign clubs. There are lots of teams interested in Gianluca, including in the Premier League. But he still needs to develop and he might need another season here with us.”

Davide Frattesi is another Sassuolo player that Inter have been heavily linked with but the CEO suggested that the midfielder could spend another season with the Neroverdi to develop further.

Frattesi probably needs another year with us, it’s taken him a while but now you’re seeing what he can do. Junior Traore’ has flourished. Dionisi has brought the best out of him and his suitors include Napoli and sides in the Premier League. He’s got lots of ability.”

Giovanni Carnevali also explained that he only lets players leave the club when he knows there is a viable alternative to replace them, as happened with Davide Frattesi replacing Manuel Locatelli.

We plan 2 years ahead. Planning is our strength. Locatelli left when we sensed that Frattesi was ready. We figured it out before Juve came in for Manuel so we were relaxed once their offer was submitted. That’s our philosophy.”
