Former Inter defender Antonio Paganin feels that Inter would not benefit from losing Lautaro Martinez but bringing in Paulo Dybala.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, Paganin gave his thoughts on a possible reshuffle in attack for the Nerazzurri this summer, and also named Davide Frattesi as a perfect option in the midfield position.

Dybala would be available on a free transfer but would nevertheless not come cheap given the amount that would have to be invested in the 28-year-old’s wages.

One solution that has been reportedly been considered by the club would be cashing in on Martinez for a significant transfer fee and then bringing Dybala in to strengthen the attack.

However, Paganin is not convinced by this possible solution, as he feels that the impact that Dybala would have is far from certain.

“Dybala is a great player, but Juve didn’t go to great legnths to keep him,” he said. “There are many physical unknowns concerning him.”

“Not to mention that Inter already have Lautaro, who is more consistent,” he went on. “Furthermore, Il Toro is younger.”

Paganin also gave his thoughts on why, stylistically, Frattesi would be a very logical target for Inter, arguing that “He’s the classic attacking midfielder.”

“I’m not saying that under Inzaghi he can become the new Milinkovic-Savic, but he could follow a similar path,” he added.

He argued that “Inter have gotten back into form, and I see them as having the best credentials to fight against Milan.”

This, he argued, comes from beating Juventus last weekend, “Because victories like this galvanize you, they give you something more. Many thought Inter were done. It seems to me that a pretty strong response has arrived.”
