Inter Looking For Forward Joaquin Correa To Prove His Quality Against Hellas Verona, Italian Media Suggest

Inter will be looking for a decisive contribution from forward Joaquin Correa in this evening’s Serie A clash with Hellas Verona.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the Nerazzurri will be aiming to right themselves in attack and that Correa’s quality will be key.

The Nerazzurri got back to winning ways last weekend with a gritty 1-0 win over Juventus, but the match didn’t necessarily answer questions about their stuttering attack given that they took a total of only five shots over ninety minutes.

Apart from cruising to a 5-0 rout of Salernitana, the miserable sequence of results that Inter had starting from the beginning of February was especially caused by the team’s inability to score more than one goal in any given match.

More must be expected if the Nerazzurri are to go on and successfully push for the Scudetto over the remaining matches of the season.

Correa will come into the team in place of the suspended Lautaro Martinez, and the 27-year-old has a point to prove of his own.

After joining from Lazio last summer, the Argentine has managed two match-winning braces, against Verona and then Udinese, but apart from these has had little impact.

Starting this evening Correa will be aiming to show that he can be an important factor in getting the team firing in the final third once again.
