Inter winger Ivan Perisic is happy to play whatever role is required from him by the team in order to get the best results.

Speaking to InterTV after the team’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona in Serie A, the 33-year-old emphasized that the only concern is trying to take three points from every match going forward.

Perisic showed his versatility against the Gialloblu, making two assists from wingback and helping to a controlled display in possession and defending in the first half before moving further forward in attack.

The Croat was entrusted to play as a second striker behind Edin Dzeko once Joaquin Correa was taken off and Robin Gosens slotted into his customary left-wingback this season.

Regardless of where on the pitch he plays, Perisic is happy as long as the team are winning matches, and he stressed that the past two matches must only be the start for the Nerazzurri.

“I’ve always said that if the team plays well and everyone runs it’s easier,” he said. “Today we proved this from the first to the last minute.”

“Last week was really important,” he went on, “we managed to win in Turin after so many years without one. Now we have to win all our games from here until the end of the season if we want something more.”

Asked about his shifting role in the team, Perisic explained that “I’ve also played as a forward, as number ten, I changed to playing many roles in Italy too, but the important thing is that the team wins, no matter where I play.”

“The coach chose this position for me today,” he went on, “the solutions are there, we have good players and I’m always available, even if I need to be played as a wide centre-back in defense.”

“I like running,” the Croat emphasized, “I’ve been doing it since I was a child. When I play I want to give everything on the pitch from the first minute to the last, it is important to give everything and help the team.”
