Inter midfielders Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic enjoy a great relationship both on and off the pitch, and this is at the heart of the team in every sense.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight the friendship that has developed between the pair since Barella joined the Nerazzurri from Cagliari in the summer of 2019.

Brozovic joined Inter in 2015, and while he didn’t instantly establish himself as a key man for the team his influence grew season on season as he shifted more into the regista role under successive managers with Lucian Spalletti really unlocking him.

Barella arrive alongside coach Antonio Conte, and Conte quickly made the pair two key components of his midfield trio.

The former Cagliari midfielder had something unlocked in his box-to-box style of play by playing alongside Brozovic, who in turn has never looked better than when Barella is at his side.

The duo won the Scudetto last season under Conte, and are once again pushing for the title this time around under Simone Inzaghi, with their chemistry having been taken to new heights.

Barella and Brozovic are not just effective teammates, but they are also two of the Inter player with the best relationship off the pitch.

The pair have become known for joking around together in and out of training, and are virtually inseparable during away matches where they spend their downtime watching television series.

Both players have committed their futures to Inter until the end of June 2026 at least despite significant interest from elsewhere, and their friendship has become central to the team in a number of ways.
