Legendary former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta believes that the impact of Inter’s win over Juventus last weekend shone through in their 2-0 win over Hellas Verona yesterday evening.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Costacurta highlighted the way that the team’s approach seemed to have been given a lift after the massive result over the Bianconeri last weekend.

Inter had to gut out a very difficult match away to Juventus, but in the end they came out 1-0 winners to take three points from the Allianz Stadium for the first time since 2012.

It was not immediately clear that the Nerazzurri could transfer this form to their subsequent matches in Serie A, given that they were far from their dominant best against the Bianconeri.

However, if the victory over the Gialloblu yesterday is any indication, their mindset has improved a lot as a result of getting the key result in Turin last Sunday.

“The match in Turin was one that Inter were forced to win regardless of their performance,” Costacurta said. “These are those victories that can give confidence to a team and we saw it today against Verona.”
