Inter forward Alexis Sanchez is close to leaving the club during the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Passione Inter, who report that the 33-year-old is getting closer and closer to the exit door as the season comes to a close.

Sanchez has had a mixed season at Inter, coming back from an injury that ruled him out of the first few weeks of the campaign and publicly grumbling about a lack of playing time.

The Chilean did show his quality in a number of key moments especially in December and January, scoring important goals in the league and the Coppa Italia as well as a memorable last-gasp winner against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana.

However, the sense of disconnect never really fully went away, whilst the club are aiming to get the 33-year-old’s high wages off their books for next season and ready to pay a €4 million severance to do so.

Sanchez has been given less and less playing time over the past few weeks, and while he could still have his say in the run-in of the season, it looks more than ever like the club are planning to transition away from him.
