Hellas Verona head coach Igor Tudor feels that his team ultimately deserved their defeat against Inter yesterday evening at the San Siro.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, Tudor acknowledged that the Nerazzurri had been the superior side in the first half of the 2-0 win, though he also suggested that his team could have scored after halftime.

Inter needed to follow up on their gritty win over Juventus last weekend with a convincing victory against a tough Verona team who have shown that they can cause any team in Serie A problems.

In the second half, the Gialloblu got more of a foothold in the game even though Inter saw out the clean sheet and the three points, but in the first the Nerazzurri dominated the midfield battle completely to create several good chances.

It was in the first half of the match that Inter did most of their work, and Tudor feels that for this reason the scoreline was justified.

“The first half was dominated by the Nerazzurri, the 2-0 scoreline was completely desrved,” he said. “They were certainly better and faster, they were very motivated.”

“In the second half we deserved a goal but we didn’t manage to score it,” he added.
