Inter are feeling the pressure to try and agree a contract extension with wingback Ivan Perisic based on his excellent performances this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the club are increasingly making an effort to convince the 33-year-old based on his form.

Perisic put in another excellent display in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona yesterday, notching two assists and showing that he can be a complete player at both ends of the pitch.

The Croat’s incredible energy and physicality allow him to get up and down his flank, and he’s shown no signs of stopping in this regard.

Meanwhile, the player is unique in the fact that his technical ability and experience make him able to strongly impact the game wherever he finds himself on the pitch, which he showed again against Verona.

Perisic is still considering his future, and waiting to see if significant offers come in from top clubs in the Premier League or the Bundesliga.

However, Inter are increasingly convinced that they must push to renew with the Croat, given his continued excellent form.

The Nerazzurri are ready to offer a one-year deal with an option for a further season, worth €4 million net per season, while the player is asking for a two-year deal worth a net of €5 million per season.

It remains to be seen whether an agreement will be found or whether Perisic decides to move clubs in the summer, but Inter will not let him go for lack of trying.
