Inter look to have jumpstarted their season with a crucial win over Juventus last week, in a moment which looks parallel to their Serie A win over Napoli in November.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who suggest that both wins look like turning points in the Nerazzurri’s season and in the context of their Scudetto pursuit.

Inter had fallen behind the likes of AC Milan and Napoli going into the November international break, but they came back in blistering form.

Their first match back from that break was a head-to-head clash with the Partenopei, and they won 3-2 to kick off an eight-match winning run in the league which saw them surge into a commanding position at the top of the table.

This advantage ebbed away during February and March, however, when a bitter 2-1 loss to the Rossoneri in the derby on the return from the January international break inaugurated the Nerazzurri’s worst run of the entire season.

Having taken just seven points from seven matches going into the March international break, the Nerazzurri desperately needed to make a statement on their return from the break, as they now had ground to make up again.

This statement came in the form of a gritty 1-0 win away to the Bianconeri, the team’s first away win in the Derby D’Italia in almost a decade.

This result would have meant little, however, if it did not usher in a wider return to form in the crucial final matches of the season.

Based on the evidence of yesterday evening’s comfortable win over Hellas Verona, this return to form has indeed taken place within Inter, and for the Corriere the similarity to the statement win over Napoli in November is clear.
