Inter needed a wake-up call in the Serie A title race, and last weekend’s victory away to Juventus appears to have given them just that.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who suggest that the team found their form again on a psychological level with their gritty triumph over the Bianconeri.

Inter’s form was drifting badly during the matches leading into the March international break, with the team having taken just seven points from their seven league matches in February and March.

Coach Simone Inzaghi suggested that the regression was largely a mental one, and that as the team grew in confidence and self-belief they could get back to playing their best football.

The 1-0 win over Juventus was hardly the Nerazzurri’s most convincing match of the season, but it got them back to winning ways and showed the players that they can haul themselves back into the title race.

Now, the Nerazzuri appear to be right back into the mindset that they can push for the Scudetto all the way, starting with yesterday evening’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona.
