Former Juventus and Italy head coach Marcello Lippi feels that Inter have been the team who have shown the most intensity at the top end of Serie A over the past few matches.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, he named the Nerazzurri as the team who have looked especially spirited and lively as they’ve looked to haul them back to the top in the title race.

Inter had to gut out a backs-to-the-wall defensive display to get the better of Juventus last weekend in Turin, but they showed their full commitment to hold out.

Then, on Saturday, the Nerazzurri hardly looked short on mental or physical energy as they dominated Hellas Verona in the first half to ensure that they made it six points from six since the return from the international break.

It remains to be seen if Inter can keep this energy level up for the remainder of the campaign, but for now Lippi feels that they are the team who have shown the most energy.

“I won’t say I think anyone are favourites,” he explained of the Serie A title, “but over the last two or three Inter have looked the most spirited and intense out of everyone.”
