Inter could terminate the contract of forward Alexis Sanchez this season, and he is being targeted by the likes of River Plate and clubs in La Liga.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Chilean’s future is all but certain to be away from the Nerazzurri but that it’s not clear where he’ll go.

Sanchez is currently one of Inter’s highest-earning players, but his performances are not considered to be worth the size of the salary that the club are paying him.

Accordingly, it looks clear that the club are working to part ways with the 33-year-old despite the fact that his contract runs for one more season until the end of June 2023, and could do so by paying a €4 million release clause.

Alternatively, Sanchez could leave on a free transfer during the summer window, with Argentine giants River Plate and a number of clubs in the Spanish top flight reportedly keen on his signature.
