Inter are edging towards an agreement with Ivan Perisic on a new contract which would see him stay beyond the end of the season.

This according to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, who reported on his YouTube channel, via FCInter1908, that renewal with the 33-year-old is beginning to look likelier.

Perisic’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June, and no resolution has yet been found to his situation as the talks have been put on standby to focus on matters on the pitch.

The club had made their initial offers shortly after the end of the January transfer window, but there have been no concrete developments since then.

However, according to Barzaghi, the feeling is more and more that the Nerazzurri will make a significant push to convince Perisic to stay for next season and that the player is also more inclined to remain past the summer.

“The distance for extending his contract is being reduced,” Barzaghi said, “Inter offers €4 million net per season on a one-year dea with an option on the second, he asks for two years for €5 million net.”

“It’s getting closer and this wouldn’t be bad as Perisic is only improving as the years pass,” he added.
