Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini believes that while Inter remain the team with the best chance in the Serie A title race, they must not underestimate any of their “smaller” matches.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Sabatini gave the view that despite Inter’s fixture list being relatively straightforward on paper, there are many matches they have remaining which could trip them up.

The Nerazzurri will look at their match against an in-form Roma as being one of the major roadblocks in the way of taking the points needed to secure the Scudetto.

However, the team cannot afford to become overconfident now that their fate is back in their own hands in the title race, and must be mindful of the fact that there are no truly straightforward matches in Serie A.

The teams that Inter have left to play will still have something to fight for, and undoubtedly have the quality in their squads and coaching staff to cause problems and take points off of them.

“The impression I got is that, despite the three big sales and a change of coach, Inter have the best squad,” he said. “In a word, they are the strongest team.”

He added that “They must never give up in the league, they have the simplest fixture list but none of these matches should be taken lightly.”
