Spezia goalkeeper Ivan Provedel feels that he and his teammates will not be lacking motivation when they host Inter in Serie A on Friday.

Speaking to Spezia’s official social media channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Provedel outlined that while the Nerazzurri wil be fired up by their pursuit of the Serie A title, Spezia will also feel that a result would be huge for their season.

Spezia are in all likelihood clear of the threat of relegation, though it’s not entirely out of the question for Thiago Motta’s side.

Moreover, now that they find themselves with a firm foothold in midfield, the Ligurians will be aiming to keep themselves there and even push a few places up the table if they can.

Spezia have already recorded memorable wins against Inter’s direct rivals for the Scudetto Napoli and AC Milan this season, and they will have every reason to try and put in the performance to take a result from Friday’s match.

“Next Friday we face Inter, in a stadium that will certainly be very intense,” Provedel said. “And we’ll go into that match fired up, aware that the Nerazzurri are fighting for the Scudetto, but we too have an important goal to reach and we will try to do our best to try and take away points from them too.”

“It isn’t yet the time to make calculations,” he added, “but rather to keep working with total concentration to keep taking decisive points.”
