Former Napoli and Udinese coach Giovanni Galeone feels that even if they had lost to Juventus last weekend, Inter would still be favourites to win the Serie A title.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, he gave the view that the Nerazzurri would be the best-placed team for the Scudetto no matter what given their quality and experience.

Inter’s win away to the Bianconeri was a massive result in their season, made even moreso by the fact that both of their rivals in the top three of the table have dropped points over the past two matches.

Now, the Nerazzurri are in control of their own destiny, and they feel a renewed confidence after having won the tough away match in Turin.

Galeone feels that, irrespective of that result, however, the Nerazzurri would have had what it takes to go all the way over the matches that remain.

“In my opinion the strongest team is Inter,” he said. “They are the favourites and they would have been even if they had lost in Turin, Napoli don’t have the experience to fight at the top.”
