Ex-Nerazzurri Striker Christian Vieri: “Inter Steamrolled Hellas Verona & Could Have Scored 6 Goals”

Legendary former Inter, Lazio, and Atletico Madrid striker Christian Vieri feels that the Nerazzurri’s performance against Hellas Verona on Saturday was completely dominant.
Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the former striker suggested that Inter could well have won by a bigger margin given the way that the match went.
Particularly in the first half, Inter were in complete control against the Gialloblu at the San Siro, putting a number of dangerous balls into the box while restricting the away side to just a single attempt.
The second half was more evenly-balanced though still saw the Nerazzurri look like the more composed team on the balance of play and chances.
In the end, the Nerazzurri saw out their 2-0 advantage from the dominant first half, but Vieri feels that it could very easily have been more than that.
“It was hardly a contest,” Vieri said, “they could have scored five or six goals.”
“Inter are in a class of their own,” he continued, “they’ve shown that they’re where they need to be for the Scudetto.”
“After the three very important points won in Turin, they steamrolled Hellas,” he said. “I thought they would have struggled more, instead they were beasts in a bedlam-like San Siro.”
