Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia is set to leave the club at the end of the season, with the Nerazzurri not intending to extend his contract past the end of June.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 34-year-old has already been informed that barring a major reversal they have already made the decision to part ways at the end of the campaign.

Ranocchia signed an extension with Inter last summer, with the defender committing to another season at the club, while the deal also contained an option on the part of the club to extend his contract by another season.

However, the club are ready to move on from the 34-year-old, and will not be activating the clause which allows them to extend his deal.

Ranocchia has had a role to play this season, including starting in a hugely important 3-2 win over Napoli in November, but he has not been a regular starter and the club are ready to move past his dressing room influence.
