January signing Robin Gosens is set to make his first start for Inter in Friday’s away clash with Spezia in Serie A.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the German will start in place of Ivan Perisic at left wingback on the Nerazzurri’s trip to Liguria.

Gosens has yet to feature from the start since his arrival from Atalanta during the January transfer window, having so far played a total of 115 minutes as a substitute.

The 27-year-old’s most prominent appearance for the Nerazzurri so far came in the form of a thirty-minute cameo and assist against Salernitana.

However, coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to put his faith in Gosens, especially given the amount of playing time that Perisic has been racking up recently.

The Croat is still first-choice in the position and is expected to start against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg next week.

However, against Spezia, it will be up to Gosens to show what he can do from the first minute.
