Stefan de Vrij will make his return to Inter’s starting eleven in the team’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against AC Milan next week.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Dutchman will likely not feature against Spezia on Friday but that there is no question that he’ll be ready for the clash with the Rossoneri.

De Vrij trained alone again as the team did not feel that it would be worth risking a full training session yet, but his thigh problem is not serious and hasn’t been causing him any issues.

The 30-year-old will be reintroduced to the group soon, though it is very unlikely that he will start against Spezia later in the week, and he could be even left out of the squad to travel to Liguria altogether.

However, by the time of next week’s massive Milan derby for a place in the Coppa Italia final, the plan is to have de Vrij back in the starting eleven.
