Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is not likely to join Inter during the summer transfer window, and is in fact closer to a possible move to Tottenham Hotspur.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, who report that a return for the Belgian would not be very feasible, and that he could instead be headed for a move within the Premier League.

Lukaku’s situation at Chelsea since making the blockbuster switch last summer from Inter has been a difficult one, with the 28-year-old not enjoying a positive relationship with Blues coach Thomas Tuchel.

For this reason, he has been heavily linked with an exit as early as the summer transfer window, and a possible return to Inter has been suggested given that this is the player’s desire.

However, bringing Lukaku back would be financially difficult for the Nerazzurri, whilst Tottenham could sell striker Harry Kane in which case they would be looking for a big name replacement for the Englishman.

Given the positive form that the Belgian enjoyed under Spurs coach Antonio Conte whilst at Inter, and the relationship he has with the coach, this could be a suitable move for all parties.
