Inter could look to a low-cost option in attack if they do not sell Lautaro Martinez this summer, with Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic and Torino’s Andrea Belotti possibilities.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri may focus on free transfers or loans if they do not sell Martinez during the summer transfer window.
Inter will definitely be aiming to sign a centre-forward this summer, with Gianluca Scamacca their primary goal and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez more of a distant dream.
However, funding a move for a top target could be difficult given the club’s plans for self-financing in the transfer market, which is why Martinez could be the player sacrificed in order to make way for other important targets.
In the event that the Argentine is not sold, however, the club have backup plans in the form of Belotti, who is available on a free transfer at the end of his contract with Torino.
Meanwhile, Jovic is another player who the Nerazzurri have targeted in the past, and the Serb remains largely out of favour in Madrid, so could potentially be brought in on loan.
