Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini believes that the Nerazzurri’s win over Hellas Verona last weekend shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Speaking to Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX, the former defender gave the view that Inter put in a disciplined performance to get a result from a match which presented many potential difficulties for them.

The Nerazzurri will not have expected a straightforward clash when they hosted the Gialloblu, given that they were facing a team who have beaten Juventus and Roma and drawn with Napoli this season.

Igor Tudor’s men have shown that they can give anyone a tough matchup with their organized and physical high-pressing style of play.

However, in the first half in particular the Nerazzurri were given very few problems by the Gialloblu and easily secured three points to keep up the momentum in their title charge.

“At the Meazza I thought Inter looked practical, secure, and in great condition, and a Verona who, after the two goals collected, had their chances,” he said. “A win wasn’t such a foregone conclusion.”
