Inter have been linked with an interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes, and the Argentine’s tactical versatility could make him the perfect player to bolster their midfield.

This according to yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight how the 27-year-old could complete the Nerazzurri’s midfield options in terms of depth.

Inter are looking for a player who can ably back up Marcelo Brozovic for next season, as their struggles to replicate the Croat’s influence when he is absent have been no secret.

Paredes could be a player who has the right profile to be a specialist backup to Brozovic, leaving the likes of Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu free to play a box-to-box role and have an impact in the final third.

However, the Argentine is also capable of playing a more box-to-box role himself, and would not just be restricted to filling in for Brozovic, meaning that with his signings the Nerazzurri could flesh out their midfield without having to sign several players.
