Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has said that he told Marcelo Brozovic to shoot more and that Alessandro Bastoni was only struggling with cramps at the end of the game, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview after the Spezia game with DAZN, via FCInternews, Simone Inzaghi explained that he was talking to Federico Dimarco after Marcelo Brozovic opened the scoring because he had been telling the Croatian to shoot more in training.

“I was talking to Dimarco because yesterday, at the end of training, we were there with Brozovic in the conclusions and I had just told him to shoot more and he will find the goals.”

He also said that Marcelo Brozovic was man-marked in the game so they had to make sure everyone else stayed mobile.

“Today  Brozovic was man-marked, so it was necessary to make moves to free other men and spaces. Barella was also good.”

Stefan de Vrij missed the game against Spezia because of the injury that he has been recovering from recently but the coach says that he could have played if chosen. He also provided some clarity on the injury that Alessandro Bastoni appeared to acquire in the second half of the match.

“De Vrij was ready to play even though he had only trained yesterday with the team, but D’Ambrosio and Dimarco give me certainty. We will see about Bastoni, but they should only be cramps: we will evaluate for Tuesday.”
