Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has said that Inter needed the two recent victories against Juventus and Hellas Verona but they must keep winning, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport ahead of the match against Spezia on Friday evening, via FCInternews, the coach stressed the importance of the two recent victories and the need for consistency towards the end of the season.

“We needed those victories. First in my opinion we created a lot of chances without realising and without being able to bring home the result. Now we have to follow up on these victories in a difficult match. But we have prepared well these last few days.”

He has decided to start the game in La Spezia with Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa together in attack, as he did against Hellas Verona. He feels that they performed well in that 2-0 win in which Edin Dzeko got the second goal.

“They did well in the last game, but playing every three days we have to face one game at a time. It will be a succession of games where we will have to be good.”

Spezia are in the bottom five of the Serie A table at the time of kick-off but they will likely be able to escape relegation this season. Simone Inzaghi certainly does not seem to be underestimating them.

“I think it will be a tough, demanding match. Spezia is a team that is doing very well, we will have to be good at interpreting them as well as the last ones, knowing that there will be difficulties.”
