Inter’s young Belgian defender Zinho Vanheusden has told the club that he would like to spend next season at Genoa even if it means a season in Serie B, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the 22-year-old who has been on loan at Genoa this season is determined to spend another year with the Grifone regardless of what division that may be in.

He has impressed when he has played for the Rossoblu this season but repeated injuries mean he has not played as much as was initially expected.

Despite this, he has clearly settled at Genoa and knows he is unlikely to get regular game time if he spends next season at Inter instead.

Genoa currently sit 19th but the relegation battle is very tight and they could still find themselves escaping.

New coach Alexander Blessin has made them a more solid side but they do not score many goals.
