Inter-owned striker Sebastiano Esposito has said that a call with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio gave him the adrenaline to start playing even better for FC Basel, according to a report in the Swiss media today.

Speaking during a long interview with Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten, Sebastiano Esposito explained that he was on a video call with the press office at Inter when Piero Ausilio and his deputy Dario Baccin entered the room and gave him some words of encouragement.

“I recently had a video call with the press office of Inter. By chance, Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin entered the room and told me to do more and silence the critics.”

The youngster then explained that the talk was like an adrenaline shot for him and he went on to score against Marseille in the Europa Conference League and continued providing goals for his team.

“That was the needed adrenaline shot that I didn’t have yet. Two days later I scored against Marseille and got four assists in subsequent games. I told my girlfriend: I have enough adrenaline and energy to move mountains.”

Sebastiano Esposito has scored six times for FC Basel this season in all competitions and he has provided another nine goals for his teammates.

It is not yet clear what his plans are when his loan spell in Switzerland ends.
