Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni could be ruled out of Inter’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against AC Milan through injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 23-year-old will have his physical condition assessed over the coming days to determine whether he will be ready to start the match.

Bastoni had to come off late in Inter’s Serie A win away to Spezia yesterday evening, with the defender experiencing some cramp which left him unable to continue.

Stefan de Vrij came on in his place, and the defensive reshuffle led to some confusion at the back momentarily, although in the end the team saw the match out despite not managing to keep a clean sheet.

De Vrij will almost certainly be in the starting eleven for the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia clash with the Rossoneri on Tuesday, but Bastoni is less certain, as he will only play if he’s fully fit.
