Inter defender Milan Skriniar has said that when he can help the team to win he is happy and it does not matter which position he plays, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Soeaking to Inter TV after the match against Spezia on Friday night, via FCInternews, Milan Skriniar explained that he will play in whichever part of the defence that Simone Inzaghi needs him to as long as it means that the team wins.

“I feel good. When I can help the team I’m happy, it doesn’t matter if I’m on the right or left, that’s why I feel good.”

Inter won the game 3-1 but the Spezia goal made it 2-1 and set up a potentially nervy finish. Milan Skriniar felt the need to apologise for that goal that the Nerazzurri conceded.

“We are happy that we are doing well in defence, sorry for the goal we conceded today that we complicated our lives for nothing at 2-0, and it is a pity. But I’m happy for the three points, which are fundamental for our journey.”

Inter were in a really bad patch of form until these last three Serie A games in which they have taken all nine points. Milan Skriniar explained what the team would talk about after a defeat.

“We talked a lot after the games that we didn’t win. We talked between players, with the staff. And we understood how to play certain games and we prepared for them in the right way and it shows but we have to continue like this because there are fewer and fewer games.”

He also said that the win over Juventus gave Inter a really important push: “It is important. In my opinion the victory with Juventus gave us a hand, it gave us an important push, we absolutely must not make mistakes now and continue like this and improve those things that did not go well today, but we will certainly talk about them tomorrow when we prepare for the next match that awaits us because it is still tough.”
