Italian journalist Paolo Condo believes that Inter once again look like the standout side at the top of Serie A.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Condo praised the work of Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi to once again guide the team to being the favourites for the Scudetto.

Inter’s season has not gone perfectly, particularly when looking at their patch of bad form lasting through much of February and March.

However, when considering the expectations that had been in place going into the season, things start to look more impressive, and the team’s last three matches since the return from the international break suggest they’re right back at the top.

Inter have had to respond to a serious wobble and prove that they can once again look like the dominant force that they had through November and December when they won eight matches in a row in the league, and they have done just that.

“Inzaghi has succeeded in the first phase of the post-Conte era,” Condo said, “it wasn’t easy.”

He went on that “Inzaghi was the first coachto face the difficult period in the fixture list, in January he met all the big names and it went very well until the 70th minute of the match against Milan.”

“They initially were hit hard by the inability to react to the result against Milan,” he suggested, “but now they’re back to being the strongest team.”
