Former AC Milan, Real Madrid, and England coach Fabio Capello believes that Inter are in the driver’s seat in the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera in an interview published in today’s print edition, Capello gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s win over Juventus two weeks ago may have given them the decisive boost in the Scudetto race.

Inter will guarantee themselves a second Scudetto in a row if they are to win all six of their remaining matches in the league, and while this would be a tough ask, it indicates the strength of their position.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri are in a position to approach their run-in for the season with a confident mindset, and this is the result of the form they’ve been in after taking three points away to Juventus.

Capello believes that based on this, Inter are the likeliest team to go all the way in the remaining matches of the Serie A title race.

“They have the strongest squad,” he said. “They had fallen asleep a bit, but after their victory at the Allianz Stadium it was a breath of fresh air.”

“That result gave them conviction,” he added, “the last rounds of the title race will be decisive.”
