Former Torino defender Massimo Brambati is skeptical of the idea that Inter could benefit from offloading Lautaro Martinez and replacing him with Gianluca Scamacca and Paulo Dybala.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Brambati suggested that there would be a lot of uncertainty particularly around Dybala to potentially take over from Martinez if the latter is sold.

Martinez has been linked with a summer exit, with the 24-year-old still a major target of teams particularly in the Premier League and La Liga.

If Inter were to sell the Argentine they could potentially bring in a much-needed influx of cash, whilst the club have also been linked with players who would indicate that they have a plan for moving on from the Argentine.

However, in the view of Brambati, it would not necessarily be this simple, and the move wouldn’t be certain to improve the Nerazzurri.

“If Dybala is the player who made the Juventus fans fall in love with him, he is certainly better,” he said. “If he’s not the same player, in my opinion he doesn’t improve themmuch, also because we must remember that Scamacca would arrive from Sassuolo.”

“The Inter shirt has a different weight than that of Sassuolo,” he said.

And asked about the first season of Simone Inzaghi as Inter coach compared to those of Antonio Conte, he said that “I absolutely would not compare him to Conte.”

“When Conte arrived, Inter were twenty points behind Juventus,” he said. “In addition, Juventus had Ronaldo and not the current one who is in decline.”

“Inzaghi must keep up the great pace he had taken over from Conte,” he argued. “As I said, I expected based on the quality and the squad itself that Inter already had the title in their pocket.”
