AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli believes that his team’s only option is to win in their remaining Serie A matches if they are to compete with Inter for the Scudetto.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by L’Interista, Pioli emphasized that the Rossoneri are treating each game as must-win given the intensity of the title race with their city rivals down the stretch.

Inter are two points behind Milan in the Serie A table, but with the potentially decisive factor of the Nerazzurri having a game in hand on their city rivals.

Therefore, Inter’s fate is in their own hands, but the race could hardly be tighter, especially given that the Rossoneri would have the head-to-head advantage if the teams finish the season level on points.

Napoli are still just in the background and are still in a good position to take advantage of any stumbles by the two teams ahead of them, and the season has already thrown out plenty of surprises, but Pioli feels that his team must keep winning.

“We have to win all of our remaining matches if we want to keep fighting until the end,” the coach said. “My team look very focused and motivated to me.”
